| | Biography:
As a performer Scott was last seen in BROADWAY: THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT! at the Muskoka Festival Theatre and in the hit musical CRAZY FOR YOU at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto. Over the years his versatility allowed him to appear as a guest soloist with SYMPHONY NOVA SCOTIA, as well as singing and dancing the role of Fred Astaire in the Lighthouse Festival's production of CHEEK TO CHEEK. Other stage credits include 42ND STREET, a Pops concert with the KITCHENER-WATERLOO SYMPHONY conducted by Howard Cable, Alan Lund´s production of KISS ME KATE, the Dora Mavor Moore Award winning musical ON TAP!, (which he conceived, co-choreographed, and co-produced) in Toronto and Vancouver, the Vancouver Playhouse's production of A CHORUS LINE, a GALA PERFORMANCE FOR HER MAJESTY QUEEN ELIZABETH II at Roy Thompson Hall, the English pantomime DICK WHITTINGTON at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, PIRATES OF PENZANCE starring Barry Bostwick and Andy Gibb, the Charlottetown Festival's productions of BY GEORGE, THE LEGEND OF THE DUMBELLS, Gordon Pinsent´s THE ROWDYMAN, and the ever popular ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, as well as two seasons with the Stratford Festival in Leon Major´s production of HMS PINAFORE and Brian Macdonald´s THE MIKADO.
Screen credits include JOHNNY BELINDA, THE RIVALS, THE MIKADO, THE WAYNE AND SHUSTER SHOW, for the CBC, guest appearances on Global Television's VARIETY TONIGHT, and two episodes of the award winning children's show TODAY'S SPECIAL starring Jeff Hyslop.
Now in his 51st year and looking forward to a lot more, Scott works as a freelance writer/researcher specializing in Toronto and Ontario history. He has written for adults and for children and his work has appearing in theatres, newpapers (Toronto Star, Post City Magazine), magazines and websites. He has researched and written about many topics however he favours subjects concerning Canadian history, theatre and theatrical reviews, architecture, and things of a ghostly nature. His theatre writing won him a Dora Mavor Moore Award for the creation of the musical revue ON TAP!. He has had numerous musical revues produced including BROADWAY: THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT!, HOLLYWOOD REELS, SAY YOU'LL NOT FORGET - Songs From The War Years,; and the book musical CASEY! (based on the poem "Casey at the Bat" with music by David Warrack).
Scott has been a proud member of Canadian Actors' Equity Association since 1976. He also currently sits on the Board of Directors for PSICAN (Paranormal Studies and Investigations Canada) as well as being an active investigator and researcher with the Toronto and Ontario Ghosts and Hauntings Research Society where he also has had numerous articles published on their web site. |
